Day 148 No Stabilisers!

First Ride on Two Wheels
Yes we have a caravanful and true to form the weather's pretty miserable! At least it's dry but there's a cold wind and we didn't get a lot done today.  The one exception was Mia who'd brought her bike with her.  Huw & Mel took her into town in the morning and kitted her out with cycle helmet, knee & elbow pads before removing the stabilisers from her bike.  After a slow start and a couple of painful falls on the road in front of our van we took her down to the field where she started to get the hang of it.  By the end of the day she was cycling in a straight line and stopping without falling off. She just has to learn how to corner now!

The evening was much more fun. Our friend Clive, who we've known for twenty years has given up his caravan and moved from the Rhondda to a small village just outside Haverfordwest.  Tonight he threw a big party to celebrate that and his and his wfe Kay's 50th birthdays which are within a month of each other about now.  It was a great night.  Lot's of old friends and acquaintances from the caravan site were there as well as his & Kay's family who we all now. there was too much food and booze and a live band in his very large garage/workshop.  A really good night!
