Day 320 Beach Day

We had another quietish day today.  Ian and I went down to the beach this morning - timed to coincide with the high tide!  Yesterdays flat sands were nicely covered with about 4 ft of warm water.  Perfect for a good swim.  For the first time the wind has eased and the sea was calm.  Apparently this weather will be around for a while so this afternoon we sorted out boat hire for tomorrow.  We'd always hoped to get out on the water and Gaz had done his boat licence course especially for our visit.  We're going to have a full day out tomorrow, fishing and hopefully seeing some wildlife.  We ended today with a nice meal at the restaurant in Toogoom and are going to have an early night in readiness or tomorrows early start.


I didn't take any serious photos today, just a couple of snaps of this nesting bird and chick.  We think it's a sea eagle though aren't sure.  The nest is on a manmade platform right beside the coast road around the bay!
