Day 313 SIM Frustration

Wednesday 9 November

Had a pleasant walk on the beach at high tide this morning. I wanted some more photos sof shells etc on the high tide mark. If I get a decent series of shots I want to print off three or four to put in one of my picture frame.  I don't think I've managed that today.  I'm going to try again tomorrow.  It was really hot today with little breeze and I was glad to get back indoors to the air-con.

We hadn't intended going far today as Gaz was waiting for a parcel to be delivered so Ian decided to set up the new SIM that we had bought for our mifi.  What a performance!  After ages on the phone we were told the card was faulty and to take it back to the shop to get a replacement.  When we did so the salesgirl was quite offhand and said it just needed to be activated.  We left the card with her, had a quick wander around the shops and returned to be told the card was fine and she'd activated it.  Later when Ian tried to load credit on it we were again told it was faulty and needed to be returned to the shop!  Ian set off again ready to do battle! Fortunately the salesman who sold us the card was there, instantly refunded our money and said we were the third ones to return a sim.  There must be a faulty batch out there.  Anyway all is sorted now and we've actually bought a new mifi which we will pass on to Gaz when we leave.  This took nearly all day.

Anyway after all this vicky came home and we went out to the Boat Club to eat. I had some very nice seafood skewers with king prawns, scallops and cuttlefish. It made me wonder, why is cuttlefish so seldom on menus.  It was like squid but less chewy, very nice.

Here's some seashells
