Day 252 Shakespeare

Friday 9 September

I had an early start as my handy little Photographers Ephemeris app had told me that the sun would shine directly along the river if I stood on the campsite bridge at sunrise.  I was there by 6.30 but there was no sign of a sunrise! In fact it remained hidden by clouds till 10.00! I got one reasonable photo of the river that had some  nice light though I didn't see any colour in the sky at the time.

After one of the campsites famous 99p breakfasts ( the cup of tea was more expensive at £1!) we took the water taxi into town.  The 20 minute ride on an 8 seater electric boat was a delightful way to travel.  We had a good walk around Stratford and visited Shakespeares birthplace & the site of his last home. Later I spent a pleasant hour in the butterfly farm.  Our Daily challenge was "Winged" so it seemed appropriate!

The highlight of the day was the evening, at the theatre. We had a super 3 course meal in the Rooftop Restaurant there and then were highly entertained by the performance of A Midsummer Nights Dream.  This is our second visit there in three months and will definitely be back. Its a wonderful night out.
