Day 244 Back to Broadhaven!

Thursday 1 September

Today we had arranged to take Rosie, our touring van, back to the dealer in Carmarthen for her annual & first service. We were up early and were there by 9.00 only to be told they'd had an emergency in (?!) and wouldn't be able to start the service till late afternoon.  Rather than being on tenterhooks waiting for it to be finished sometime Friday we said we'd be back Saturday morning.  Carmarthen is well over half way to Broadhaven so we decided to go there for 48 hours rather than back home.  We stopped off in M&S in Haverfordwest as I'd left no clean clothes in the van and needed some clean knickers! I also bought a couple of tops and a cheap pair of cotton trousers.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous though there was a bit of a wind.  Because of that we decided against getting the boat out and looked through our walk leaflets.  One around the St Davids headland caught our eye so off we went.

The walk started at St Justinians by the Lifeboat Station and followed the cliff path to the little harbour at Porthclais, then it followed narrow and very quiet country lanes back to the start. It was just under 6 miles & rough going in places. We had a great day but were tired by the time we finished so went back to the van for a snooze!

St Justinians
Green Beetle - have no idea of it's name but it was quite dramatically beautiful.
