Day 245 A Broadhaven Walk

Friday 2 September

We were still tired this morning! That walk took it out of us more than we thought.  It must be age, we can still do what we used to but it definitely takes us longer to recover.  Anyway after a very leisurely start to the day we decided on a gentle stroll along a route we've done many times before.  It goes from the campsite , through Haroldston Woods up to the little mediaeval church at the top of the valley.  we often turn left there and come back down the cliff path but today took the longer route through several fields wher ethe tractor was out turning the cut grass  for hay.  Then, crossing a small lane the route follows an obviously old sunken path, with gnarled twisty trees on either side before coming out in a field with a fishing pond. Ian had a chat with the one angler there who was attempting to catch one of the large carp to be found there.  After another small lane we then went through a few fields with nice views of the bay and back down the road to the campsite.  Todays photo is of a flower by the pond. Again I have no idea what sort of flower it is!
