Day 330 Last Day

Saturday 26 November


I'm feeling rather sad now. Tomorrow we leave Gaz and Vicky, and Hervey Bay for the drive to Brisbane where we will overnight before flying out on Monday.  I've not thought about it till now but we'll probably not see Gaz for 9 months. Hopefully he'll be visiting home in August.  Thank heavens for Skype, it really does make a difference being able to see him when we talk. In fact Ian skyped John this morning and we had a video call with him and Sue while they were still in bed!


Anyway we've had a nice last day together.  He and Ian went fishing ( unsuccessfully) this morning so I wandered down to  the beach to say hello.  As they were packing up two tandem sky divers came in to land.  The tide was well in and I was impressed by the small target patch of dry sand that they landed on.  The early start was too much for Gaz and he went back to bed while Ian Vicky and I went up the coast to see the sea eagle nest again. I didn't get any better photos of it but did manage some nice ones of the dandelions!  

For lunch we all went to Toogoom again.  Its a lovely spot and today we went to the bakery/cafe rather than the restaurant.  The milk shakes and cakes were great but Gaz's choice of quiche Lorraine caused problems.  They'd obviously got their quiches confused as three times they heated one for him and all turned out to be smoked salmon quiches which he hates. In the end he had a sausage roll instead!  Back home and Vicky went off to a works fancy dress party and Ian and I had a cooling swim in the pool. 




 Tonight we're off for a meal together in the best restaurant they've found out here.  I think we all want to do something a little special.
