Day 177 Sker Beach

Sunday 26 June

What glorious weather we had today, it really was flaming June!  While the boys played golf I showed Mel the delights of Kenfig.  We had a stroll to the pool. The water level was the lowest I've seen & there were very few birds to be seen. We didn't stay there long but meandered through the sand dunes   stopping to eat our sandwiches at a lovely level wildflower meadow in the middle of the dunes. continuing on we reached Sker beach. This wonderful sandy beach is 2-3 miles long & is usually empty as people are put off by the half hour walk there.  Today there were more people than I'd seen there before but even so you could hardly call it busy.  I took a couple of landscape photos and then some of a young girl exercising her horse.  She came up to me later and asked me to email her some copies.  It was a bit of a trudge uphill back through the dunes as by this time it was really warm.  We were grateful for a cup of tea and some cake afterwards at my Auntie Doreen's, who lives just by the carpark.

Here's a selection of todays photos
